4.14.12 - Create

I bought this old chair a couple of years ago at the local thrift store. I think I paid around $20. It was perfect for the boys' TV/Game room. Comfortable, cheap, and easy to clean. You can tell from the picture it was well-used.

I brought it upstairs and decided to make a slipcover. It sat with an old duvet thrown across it for most of the winter. Such a classy look...

I finally found enough motivation to attempt another slipcover. I repurposed the old duvet. I barely had enough to finish the piece. It was a close call.

It needs a few adjustments, but I think it will work.

We're on Spring Break this week.

We started the break with an unplanned trip to the woods

A make shift grill and campfire next to a creek was the perfect spot.

Katie protected us from the bears :)

He thought this picture was silly and did not want me to take it. He finally gave in and smiled. I love this picture.

Paint it Red

This past winter we tackled a few projects. Bob's main project was the "barn"/camper shed/new woodworking shop. He enclosed one side of the barn for his shop. Then he was ready to paint.

The safe choice was to match the house. But...

I happened to be on Pinterest and came across several pictures of red barns and snow....a dangerous combination.

I suggested he paint the new building red.

He liked my suggestion and we could not be more pleased with the results.

Wrestling

Zach and Adam were both members of the first ever wrestling team. Bob was the coach.

This week finishes the season for us. It has been fun. Starting a team from the ground up is a lot of work. We had to coordinate everything......gate duty, concessions stands, fundraisers, meets, and a tournament.

We are all just a wee bit tired and ready for a break. The boys went straight from football into wrestling. I think they, along with Bob, are looking forward to coming straight home from school and not doing anything for awhile.
