High Hopes

I have high hopes for these little babies.

I'm fretting over them every day.  Do they  have enough water?  Do they have enough sunlight? Should I add a little fertilizer?

Why all the trouble?  Because I can't wait to eat my first tomato sandwich of the summer. There's nothing better than a fresh tomato sandwich and a glass of sweet tea on a hot July afternoon.

Yummy Links

I've added another blog to my list.  This one is simply delicious.  I'm going to try the Lemon Sponge Cake for lunch tomorrow.

Yummm

Note to self:  If the recipe says to SIFT the flour, this is probably an important step and should not be skipped just because you can't find the sifter.  The result is a cake that resembles pancakes.

I really love spring

Dogwoods blooming in the backyard.
White azaleas blooming by the front porch.
Purple irises in the flower bed.

I've always loved spring.  We are lucky to have a backyard filled with native dogwoods. Everyday when I come home from work I'm greeted by the sight of dogwood blooms.  They never fail to bring a smile to my face.

The azaleas came with the house and year after year they never fail to take our breath away. They are absolutely beautiful.

The irises were planted the first spring after we moved in.  The purple ones bloom first, followed by the yellow and white.

I really love spring.

Easter '09

We traveled to Suches to attend church with my parents.  Four generations (maybe 5?) have grown up in that church sitting on the same pews, watching the sun stream through the same stained glass windows.

It was a good place to celebrate Easter.

Spring Break

We went to the beach this year for spring break.  We packed up the camper and headed to the Bradenton Beach area.

A powerful story

I've been following this blog for a couple of weeks.  This mother's words have touched my heart.  What a powerful witness, what a powerful story.
Join me in praying for Stellan.

Faith

We wait in hope for the Lord:
he is our help and our shield.
In him our hearts rejoice,
for we trust in his holy name.
May your unfailing love rest upon us, O Lord,
even as we put our hope in you.
Psalm 33:20-22
